2016: Pedaler 2.0

For a second year, cyclists took to the streets of Columbus in late October to raise money and awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Central Ohio. 2016, nicknamed Pedaler 2.0, featured some favorite stops from the first outing, as well as some new neighborhoods and businesses for our participants to check out.

Pedaler 2.0 began at 400 West Rich and featured stops at Fusian: Grandview, Seventh Son Brewing, Stauf's Coffee Roasters, CD102.5's Big Room Bar, the North Market, and Land-Grant Brewing. One hundred thirty riders were registered, supported by fifteen volunteers. Together, we grossed over $2800 for Central Ohio autism charities. The tour featured two routes: 15- and 25-miles respectively.

Prizes and Winners

tomk16Tom K. - Grand Prize Winner

GRAND PRIZE (Best Poker Hand): (Full House - Aces over 8s) "A heartfelt thank you to our friends at State Bicycle Co. for donating the majority of the cost of a Montecore 2.0 model fixed gear bicycle. Dressed in chrome, this frame is from their 4130 Series. Recently retired in preparation for the 2017 models, this may be your only chance to own one! The winner will also receive this year's Grand Prize Trophy, "Headless Highwheeler," a mixed-media masterpiece by local artist Daric Gill. This whimsical piece is presented on a violin front, and features the return of our ToeHead Pumpkin friend! Finally, the winner will receive a Pumpkin Pedaler Swag Bag featuring a 2016 Pedaler T-shirt in a color of your choice, a poker set, stickers, and other goodies."

Worst Poker Hand: (7-6-4-3-2) "Last year the winner (loser?) of this category had a 10-high string of nothing. But that netted her a swag bag full of local experiences. In honor of year two, Ichabod and the team are featuring things that come in twos - TWINS! The winner of this package will have to clear their schedule quickly, because they will receive two tickets to see Canadian duo Tegan & Sara play at Express Live! on Tuesday, October 25, courtesy of our friends at PromoWest Productions. To make sure everyone at the show knows who they are, the winner will also receive two 2016 Pedaler T-shirts, printed by Zachary Traxler and Traxler Printing. Alex Traxler (Zachary's twin brother) and Griffen Hollow Studios have thrown in one of their Ohio Stadium Redwood Collection sets, featuring earrings, a pin, and a keyring, all made from the original redwood bleachers removed from Ohio Stadium during the renovation. Finally, the winner will receive a copy of Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat, home of our favorite twins - Thing 1 and Thing 2!"

bryanb16Bryan B. - Most Interesting Wheels

Most Interesting Wheels: "We know you love your bike - but will we love it too? Dress your bike up for Halloween (make sure that decorations do not interfere with the safety or ridability of your bike), and let use be the judge at the ride! The winner will receive a Canvas Tech Messenger Bag from Robert Mason Co., making it easy to tote your electronics when you ride. The bag will be stuffed with a Jill-O-Lantern Doll from our pals at Dumpster Dollies, and will also have a one year subscription to Ride With GPS Premium, courtesy of Ride With GPS. You'll be the envy of all the other bikers!" Note: Bryan B. was also the winner in 2015.
