The Pumpkin Pedaler Foundation Hosts Inaugural Pumpkin Pedaler Bicycle Poker Run on Halloween

Upstart nonprofit, the Pumpkin Pedaler Foundation, presents the inaugural “Pumpkin Pedaler Bicycle Poker Run” event on Saturday, October 31, 2015, touring central Columbus neighborhoods. Stops will include six of Columbus’s favorite shops and restaurants. Proceeds benefit Autism Speaks and over $1000 in prizes will be awarded.

Columbus, Ohio, October 17, 2015: The Pumpkin Pedaler Foundation invites Columbus cyclists and autism advocates to sign up for their inaugural “Pumpkin Pedaler Bicycle Poker Run,” held on Saturday, October 31, 2015. The event will include a 14 mile tour of central Columbus featuring stops at six of central Ohio’s favorite local businesses. Multiple prize packages will be awarded totaling more than $1000. The “Pumpkin Pedaler Bicycle Poker Run,” sponsored by CD102.5 WWCD, Traxler Custom Printing, and City Barbeque, will benefit the Central Ohio chapter of Autism Speaks. Registration is $30 and will include a “goodie bag” from the Pumpkin Pedaler Foundation and its sponsors and a t-shirt. Participants will also be eligible for one of four prize packages and door prizes valued over $1000.

The tour begins at noon on Halloween, with registration at 11:00am. Registration will be held at the 400 West Rich Street complex and Third Hand Bicycle Co-op will be on hand for last minute repairs and adjustments. CoGo Bike Share will be providing daily rental for those interested in participating who do not have a bicycle. Riders will collect a playing card at each of the six stops, and use the accumulated hand to compete in the prize categories. Winners will be announced at the finish line, hosted by Land-Grant Brewing Company in Franklinton.

The tour includes stops at Red Velvet Café Downtown, Yellow Brick Pizza, Lost Weekend Records, DareDevil Hot Dogs, the North Market, and Land-Grant Brewing. Complimentary drinks and barbeque will be provided at the midway stop, hosted by Once Ridden Bikes and sponsored by City Barbeque. Prizes will be awarded for Best Poker Hand, Worst Poker Hand, Best Euchre Hand, and Most Interesting Wheels.
