Pumpkin Pedaler History

The Pumpkin Pedaler Foundation was founded in 2015 as a way to encourage public engagement in the conversation about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Foundation began with a singular purpose – to host a unique bicycle ride on Halloween, which happened to fall on a football-free Saturday in 2015.

The Pumpkin Pedaler Bicycle Poker Run was born as the signature event of the Foundation. This late fall bicycle tour with a twist provides an exciting platform for the Foundation to engage our community and raise autism awareness. The Pumpkin Pedaler also provides the Foundation with a significant portion of their public fundraising for the year, allowing Ichabod and the team to provide cycling and arts programs and events for children on the spectrum.

2015 – Make it Across: The 2015 Pumpkin Pedaler was the first Bicycle Poker Run hosted by the Pumpkin Pedaler Foundation. Our hosts were the 400 West Rich Arts Complex, Red Velvet Cafe, Yellow Brick Pizza, Once Ridden Bikes, Lost Weekend Records, DareDevil Hot Dogs, the North Market, and Land-Grant Brewing. The event raised over $1200 for Central Ohio autism charities, primarily Autism Speaks. Continue reading »
