Mother Nature’s Trick – Rain Plans

Well, Pedalers, we were extremely fortunate for the first three years, but it looks like the weather is not going to cooperate with us tomorrow. I wanted to reach out to you all since so much of this event takes place outside.

The Ride: Our ride is designed to do three things - raise autism awareness, expose folks to our favorite businesses that they might not otherwise visit, and to be fun. I don't want the weather to change any of this, so I invite you to complete the course however you feel comfortable completing it. Those of you die hard riders that want to complete the route via bicycle, I salute you. We have the route marked, but with the overnight rain it is doubtful all of our route markers will be there. We will have maps including turn by turn directions at the starting line, and each stop will have a map for reference. If the rain has scared you away from riding, I invite you to complete the route another way - by car, by scooter, by helicopter. Our route features some amazing locations and it would be a shame to miss them! Our volunteers will still be set up at all six of the enroute stops, ready to complete your scorecard regardless of your method of transportation. Above all, the safety and enjoyment of our riders has been, and will always be, our top priority.

Rock For Autism: Throughout the course of the day, I have been in constant contact with the musicians, sound technicians, and hosts regarding our Rock For Autism event at Land-Grant. We are working diligently to find a suitable solution to an outdoor show in the rain, but at the moment we do not have one. The roof of the Beer Garden Stage was blown down and damaged in the storms earlier in the week and we simply cannot have the show in the elements.  Our solution may include a change in location and time, so I invite you to check the Facebook event page (click here) for the latest updates. I hope to have more information before today is over.

I appreciate each of you being so understanding - we have more people registered now than we ever have at the end of online registration - so thank you! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
