Host Announcement: Brothers Drake Meadery

Ichabod and the team are absolutely thrilled to announce the Brothers Drake Meadery will be hosting our stop in the Short North. Brothers Drake has been on our radar for years, but are typically closed on Sundays. However, as a special gift the the Pumpkin Pedaler, Brothers Drake will be opening at 1pm to host our cyclists on October 28. A very special thank you to the amazing team at Brothers Drake for making this happen!

Ichabod and Mrs. Pedaler have been fans of Brothers Drake for years - but what is mead? Made in a process almost identical to wine, mead uses honey instead of grapes to provide the sugar content. The process is thousands of years old, and appears in nearly every culture that had access to honey. The team at Brothers Drake are true artisans - their mead is painstakingly made from locally-sourced ingredients and aged in their production facility behind the bar. We recommend getting a flight to try several different varieties, or ask their expert staff for a recommendation.

Brothers Drake isn't just about mead - they have developed a reputation in the Columbus music scene for hosting an ecclectic mix of jazz, reggae, and indie music in their meadery. Their walls are lush with local art, for sale direct from the artists. The bar serves their assortment of meads, but also has local beer on tap and their cocktails feature spirits from their neighbors at Middle West Spirits, crafters of the OYO line. If you enjoy the experience during the Pumpkin Pedaler, we highly encourage you to book a spot on one of their Saturday meadery tours!
